How can I get the Big Ten Network on my computer?
I have an Lcd tv that appears to have an USB port for hooking up to a computer as a monitor. Our local cable company(Time Warner) is still screwing around on carrying the BTN. Is there any way I can get the BTN or the Buckeyes game this weekend online and play it on my tv?
First off you cannot hookup any monitor via a USB cable, so that idea is not gonna work, but most HDTV's do supply you with a DVI port on it for hooking into a computer, but there is no legit way of watching those games through the computer. There are sketchy programs that claim to give you satellite tv channels to your pc but they dont have any revelent channels really. The only real way to do it is through a Slingbox device where someone you know hooks up a slingbox in their home (they need to get the game on their tv package, aka they need to have satellite tv) and than you can install the slingplayer on your computer and watch their tv channels on your computer from your house through a broadband connection. Only real way to do it, check out slingboxes at www.slingmedia.com I am not a slingbox salesman or anything, i am a purdue fan with the same problem of never being able to see the purdue games and i have tried everything to watch it through the computer since I am a computer consultant in NJ, no luck yet, but i am considering the slingbox plan and having a friend of mine in Indiana hook it up in his house for me to watch the games.
